Policies and Enrollment

Requirements

Students must be at least 16 years of age, be able to read and write English, and have reasonable manual dexterity. Any student under 18 years of age must have a written parental or guardian consent to attend. Students must also have normal eyesight and color vision; if not please let us know ahead of time so we can make prior arrangements.

Enrollment

Class size is limited to five or fewer students per session to allow for a more one on one basis with the instructor. Course reservations are accepted anytime before the first week of class provided that there are openings still available. We recommend that you register early in order to place you in the specific course you want and also to arrange your housing options.

Registering

To register, please fill out the DWTS enrollment application form located at the link below, or e-mail us and we will send you an application in the mail. Please make sure to send your deposit of $500 along with your application to ensure your spot in your selected course. Your deposit of $500 will be applied to your school tuition, with the balance due before or on the first day of class.

Class Conduct

Each individual will be required to conduct themselves in a courteous professional manner. All problems or questions will be taken care of as soon as possible by the instructor. Any student who chooses to harm or destroy another students property or property of DWTS, will be dismissed without a refund.

Attendance

Each student will be expected to attend class on time every day. Missing a class or showing up late for no apparent reason is not only disadvantageous to the individual but also disruptive to the class. Absences and tardiness will be dealt with on an individual basis by the instructor.

Payment Schedule

Tuition for the course is due on or before the first day of class. Forms and specimens for each individual will be due within a week of receiving their bill for each course started. Also students who have outstanding balances at the end of the taxidermy course will not receive a diploma or their mounts until their bill is cleared.

Refunds

No refund will be given to students who complete 50% of the scheduled taxidermy course. If a student withdraws prior to completing 50% of the scheduled taxidermy course, he will only be eligible for money calculated on the time remaining in the course(s) that they have not attended. SDST will make the appropriate refund within thirty days of the date of termination or departure from class.
